Tips on How to Maintain your Micro-Suede Couch

="

The micro-suede materials used for sofas are silky, soft fabric which is similar to natural suede. It is a mixture of numerous minute polyester yarns that were jointly woven so that any washing preference can be used.

Following is the how to’s of cleaning your micro-suede sofa:

1. Check your sofa’s manual or its label. The label will tell you the right cleaning aid to use. If a “W” is written, it means water can be used to clean the couch. If it is “S”, then you need to use solvent. If you see these two letters sprinted on the label, then it means that both cleaning stuff can be used on the sofa.

2. When you have checked that, remove the cushions from the sofa and vacuum the sofa by using the brush attachment.
3. Next, get a bottle with a spray and fill it with water or solvent or whatever cleaning aid was written on the label or manual. If the sofa is too filthy, add 3 – 4 drops of dishwashing soap.

4. Carefully spray the water or solvent onto your micro-suede sofa putting more concentration on the stains or blemishes. Get rid of the stains or blemishes by using a cloth in wiping the micro-suede sofa. Let it dry completely before letting anyone to sit on it. You can have a tag with the words “wetpaint”.
5. To eliminate stench from other factors like urine, mix distilled water and vinegar then apply it on the area. Follow it up by putting a little baking soda then vacuum it. A real couch that is made of micro-suede is easy to clean unlike those that are from fake fabrics.
6. Use an ordinary and sticky lint roller to remove hairs or lint. Although this can also be removed using your vacuum cleaner.

Part of maintaining your micro-suede modern furniture is to steam it every so often but let an expert do it. Choose a washing service company that has a good standing on cleaning micro-suede couches.

Having sofas made of micro-suede need not give you much worry as maintaining them is trouble free. Just bear in mind that the best way to have your furniture last longer is proper maintenance.

Tips to Make Your Bedroom Furniture Look New and Long Lasting

Furniture plays an important role in giving your most wanted serenity in your bedroom. That is why you need to take utmost care in your purchase of furniture. However, if your budget cannot permit a new set of fitment, then you have other options to make them long-lasting and looking new.

Bedroom furniture must always be tidied. Have a cleaning timetable. Dusting can extend the life of your fixtures and fitment. Some have particular cleaning tips so make sure that these are followed.

Use a mild furniture polish every two months. Ensure that the polish does not have any chemicals that will destroy your furniture. Perfume must not be placed directly on dresser tops; make use of ornamental glass plates as your perfume canister. A dresser scarf can also be used instead of the glass plate. Place a tiny silver glass salver in your husband’s dresser for his watch or coins.

Remove smears, marks and fingerprints on the mirror by washing it with a window cleaner.

Smarten up your furniture. Furniture that has lost its shine or color must be repainted. Make sure though that any crack or openings will be fixed. Use plastic wood to cover these cracks. Likewise, use a tack fabric to tidy the furniture prior to repainting it. Apply varnish when the painting is finished. The varnish will protect the new paint and will give the furniture a fresh luster.

Examine if the bedroom furniture needs to be repaired. Check if there are loose hooks and joints. Perhaps the drawer pull has loosened up. The bed, couch or chair’s feet must also be periodically checked if these are still intact.

Any nicks or scratches must be given attention. If you do not have a scratch removal kit, then
get one for your own use. This tool will help you to hide the nicks of the furniture.

Serve a hot cup of coffee or tea with saucers or coasters. Putting the hot cup directly on top of a bedside table will ruin the furniture top as the heat will leave stains.

Observing the aforementioned tips will make your bedroom furniture looking new and fresh as well as enhancing its durability.

Your Living Room Furniture at Its Best

The living room is the place in the house where the family spends time to relax and have quality time together. It is also the common area where we gather our friends together. This is the reason why a lot of us allot a big amount to furnish it. We also always make it a point to keep it spic and span.

But how do we keep the living room with all its contemporary furniture clean? How many hours must we allot for the cleaning and how do we maintain the fixtures?

You need not worry much about dirt piling up in your living room furniture if you make sure that you clean it frequently preferably once a week. It is not that hard as you think with the aid of a vacuum. Make sure though that your vacuum’s brush is not so hard so as to prevent destroying your furniture.

Be cautious of spills as well. They cannot be avoided though so make sure that you attend to them as soon as possible. If you let them stay any longer they will be impossible to remove entirely. You do not want your furniture smelling and feeling all soggy, and slimy, and dirty; so be careful!

And since your contemporary furniture come with an outside surface layer to act as its shield from external damages, never resort to cleaning solutions which have hazardous chemicals that can destroy your furniture. Water and soap are enough to treat spills. Just make sure that you use warm water and soap which does not produce too much lather to avoid soap deposits afterwards.

Another good technique is to avoid using steam cleaners. They will only contribute to the fast deterioration of your furniture. Water tends to stay longer inside the furniture for a longer time thus fostering the spurt of unwanted molds and yeasts in your furniture. This will also bring out an unwanted odor and will force you to replace your furniture.

Furniture Care Quick Tips

Modern Furniture
can be compared to very important investments such as cars, homes, or stocks. You live around it, you use it, and it serves as a form of art by being pleasing to look at. This is why you should take certain precautions to make sure your furniture will last throughout years of use. Some quick tips:

  • Furniture such as leather sofa should be kept out of direct sunlight to avoid color fading.

  • try to avoid placing furniture near windows or directly underneath a window. Dust and other harmful agents such as rain drops exist plentifully around these areas and may damage furniture

  • Avoid placing furniture near heating and air conditioning vents. Warming and cooling a piece of furniture such as wood puts it under varying temperature stress and may cause it to bow or warp.

  • Clean up spills immediately. This is a no brainer. Avoid stains from becoming permanent or being the cause to furniture erosion by cleaning it up right away.

  • Dining tables should be safe guarded by coasters, table mats, and table cloths. Glass can get stained permanently. protect it when you have guests over or avoid eating on the bare table often.

  • Don't slide furniture from place to place. Legs of beds and sofas are made to withstand stress from above, not side to side. This can break the legs of your furniture and compromise the frame. Pick up the furniture instead. Use extra help if you need.

  • Accents on furniture such as nightstands, dressers, tables should be rotated periodically so rings will not form and color will be evenly distributed.

  • Clean your furniture by wiping dust with a wet damp cloth. Do so at least once every month and a half. clean furniture and a clean place elevate your mood and makes you appreciate your furniture more.
