Furniture to Keep your Child's Bedroom in Order

One of the things that you need to have in dealing with your children's messiness is patience.  If your child can make his bedroom clean and neat, then you have trained him well and you are indeed lucky.

Nagging your child to clean his bedroom is not a good thing to do.  This will not motivate him to do it or if ever he did, he will be doing it with a heavy heart.

The best thing to do is to make a list and have it posted on his headboard or his closet's door.   You can also try putting a slogan on cleanliness and post it on the closet door.  You can make a caricature differentiating a messy and an orderly room.

Buy him with organizers that are sufficient to store his things. Children tend to store tiny things -- from their toys, accessories, bit and pieces, items given to them by you or relatives and friends.  If these things pile up and there is not enough space to keep them, clutter will indeed be around in his bedroom.   Those who are from 4 to 12 years of age also want their stuff toys beside them when they sleep.  Even teenagers have their own share of collections such as CDs, songbooks, make-up, magazines and other teen paraphernalia.

Provide some cleaning materials and store them in a nice bin in one corner of the room.  Ensure that you also provide him with a trash can.  The presence of these cleaning materials will remind him to keep his room tidy.

The following furniture can help put order in his bedroom.

Check on the latest styles and designs of beds.  Modern beds are now fitted with underneath drawers.

You can also buy him storage boxes or carts.  They come with wheels for easy maneuvering.  These can be placed under his bed so make sure that they fit under it.  Therefore, measure the space under the bed to make sure you get the right size.  They are available in various sizes and colors.

You can have fitted cabinets on his wall where he can store his toys, books and other stuff.  Utilize intricate brackets to make it really look like a display area.

Get him a new set of wardrobe.  Modern closets are no longer limited for clothes.  They are now created with drawers and divisions to accommodate more items like belts, hankies, hats, and other accessories.  Otherwise, you can ask the help of a carpenter to make some fixing in the closet so he can have more storage space for his personal belongings.

Put a desk so will have a better area where he can study his lessons.   Be sure to have a desk lamp for him.  It will be better if you can have a desk with drawers and the chair with a shelf.

Finally, assist in cleaning his room.  This is a good way of bonding with each one.  After the chores are done, prepare a snack for yourselves.

This habit will get into his system until such time that he learns how to do it on his own without the notes or reminders.

="

What is your ideal bedroom? Both sexes have their own preferences when it comes to bedroom. This is the same with children. Single women would have a different set-up in her bedroom with that of married women. The latter will have to take into consideration their spouse.
As a whole, however, how do you think would women want their bedroom to look like?

="

Let us discuss the bed first. Both sexes regardless of their age, single or married, prefer a bed that offers comfort. This is the main requirement when buying this furniture. Next are the size, design, durability and price. Comfort ranks first because your body will rely on it so you can have a good rest. Sleep renews your energy and a sloppy bed cannot give this to you.

="

Women especially need to have a bed that can support their bodies. This is because women’s bodies age earlier compared with men. To support her from having back pains, she needs a mattress that can sustain her body weight and support her even when getting up.

="

A bed with a headboard will do well for a woman, as most women love to read before going to sleep. The headboard can support her back and head while seated on the mattress.

="

A woman cannot do without a dresser in her bedroom. It would be better if she can have a dresser with mirror. Women love accessories and with this furniture, she sure has a place to keep them. The mirror is needed when dressing up and putting on makeup.

="

She would love a bedside table where she can put a table lamp, her reading material, reading glasses, alarm clock and other items.

She would also appreciate a sofa or love seat in her bedroom. It can be positioned near the window with a plant on the windowpane. This will provide her another relaxation venue if she wants to meditate. It is also a good area for reading.

="

The younger set of women would welcome the presence of a table, which they can use for some unfinished work in the office.

A woman’s bedroom would have some decorative wicker baskets for some trinkets or for her magazines. Her pictures are posted on the bedroom wall as well as pictures of her family framed in intricate frames.

The bedroom will have colorful patterns for bed linens and pillowcases. Color of the curtains or blinds are in harmony with the other colors in the room and with a more fashionable and striking presence.

="

Scented candles or aromatherapy oil is used to give the room a distinct fragrance.

As a whole, a woman’s bedroom, whether married or single, will definitely speak of her personality. It is immaculately clean and well-kept with an inviting mood to rest.

="

If there is any room in the home that can give you solace, it is your bedroom. Nevertheless, you can achieve this mood if you have the proper lights in your room.

The theme of your bedroom will be your basis in selecting the colors of your furniture as well as the lights to use. It follows that a modern bedroom must have modern lighting fixtures, too. You can combine the conventional and contemporary look, though but everything must be in harmony with the rest.

There are several choices for lighting fixtures these days. Each lighting accoutrement can make a change in the mood of your bedroom even without a change in your furniture.

Naturally, your bedroom needs central lighting that will illuminate the whole room. However, there are times that you do not need to turn on the central lights.

="

For instance, if you enjoy reading a book or magazine while sitting on your bed while your head is propped on the headboard, you can make use of a table lamp. A table lamp that can be angled to your direction would be a good choice especially if you share the bed with your husband or partner.

There should always be two table lamps, one on your side and on the side of your husband. This will allow you both to do the things you need to do without disturbing each one.
You can likewise have lights mounted on top of the headboard. Make use of diffused lights. Task lights will also be a perfect option. They provide better quality light and reduce eyestrain.

="

If you have a TV in your bedroom, you can have a floor lamp placed on a corner. This can be turned on while watching a show or movie. Make certain, however, that the illumination is not directed towards the TV screen.

You can also have a light above your dresser’s mirror. This will aid you when putting on make-up.

Use varied sources of light and wattage in your bedroom.

="

Lights play a vital role in setting up the atmosphere in any room of the home. Since the bedroom is meant to be peaceful, relaxing and soothing, it is essential that you choose your lighting fixtures appropriately.

Do not forget the switch, too. The central lights switch must be located near the door. A dimmer switch can be used, too.

To save you from getting up from bed, have the switch of your headboard lights a few distance away from the light.
